Years: 1 - 6

Our Voices examines the historical and contemporary issues that have shaped the Australian culture. It draws on the wide range of sources on display at the National Museum of Australia and presents collections of stories, rather than adopting a strict chronological approach. Personal accounts from Indigenous Australians, early settlers, migrants and contemporary Australians provide opportunities for students to empathise with these people. They also allow students to identify with the social, political, environmental and cultural issues of the times.

Our Voices opens students' eyes, encouraging them to discuss, research and draw conclusions about Australia's history. It is available for purchase through the National Museum of Australia shop and through Harcourt Education.

Select Harcourt Education for a full brochure description of this resource. Our Voices can be ordered online from the Rigby site.
