In this unit of work students explore some key objects and images from the National Museum's environmental history exhibition, Old New Land, and analyse what they tell us about:

  • European responses to the unique Australian flora and fauna
  • the consequences of introduced species
  • relationships between Aboriginal people and the land
  • how technological innovations were born of harsh necessities.
