Investigates stories of immigration and the impact migrants have had on Australian society over time.

This unit of work uses the objects and displays in the Museum's Horizons exhibition and other Museum exhibitions as evidence of the impact immigration has had, and continues to have, on Australia. The themes and topics explored include:

  • a White Australia
  • national identity and citizenship
  • 'populate or perish' philosophy
  • the economy and the environment.
