Investigates stories of immigration and the impact migrants have had on Australian society over time.

This unit of work uses the objects and displays from the Museum's previous Horizons gallery (now replaced by the Australian Journeys gallery) and other Museum exhibitions as evidence of the impact immigration has had, and continues to have, on Australia. The themes and topics explored include:

• a White Australia
• national identity and citizenship
• 'populate or perish' philosophy
• the economy and the environment.
