Drawing the Lines 2009 - Winners

Drawing the Lines is a national political cartooning competition for upper primary and secondary schools in conjunction with the Behind the Lines exhibition.

In 2009 students were asked to submit a cartoon dealing with a recent political issue of national significance. The awards were judged by Canberra Times cartoonist, David Pope.

Following are the winners of this year's competition. The awards ceremony will be held at the National Museum of Australia on 11 December 2009. Contact education@nma.gov.au with any enquiries.

'Political hot air'

'It's stuck again'

Jonathan Mo
Year 12, Cherrybrook Technology High School, New South Wales

'Chinese whispers'

Katie Cominos
