Art and music workshops held at the Museum for people with a disability
The Museum continues its popular series of art and music workshops developed for adults with a disability and music programs for preschool children in 2013.

What happens?
Participants who have physical or intellectual disabilities are encouraged to participate in these programs with their carers. After viewing displays and hearing about the stories in the exhibitions for about 20 minutes, participants will then experience music and movement or art and creative craft activities relating to the exhibits in a fun and inclusive environment. The workshops will last approximately 45 minutes.
Numbers are limited so bookings are essential. After your booking is made (via the phone number above), our program manager will contact you to discuss the program and any special requirements you may have. To allow this to happen seamlessly, please provide two ways of contacting you at the time of booking.
Family members of preschool children are also welcome to attend. Future programs especially for people with visual or hearing impairment are also planned.

Drummers not plumbers orchestra
Young musicians joined an open music workshop at the National Museum of Australia in December 2012 to celebrate International Day of People with Disability. Led by Matthew Armstrong, children and young adults became part of the Drummers not plumbers orchestra, using coloured plastic pipes to create a distinctive sound.
