About the cartoonist

David Pope is a Canberra-based freelance cartoonist best known for the political cartoons he draws for the alternative press in Australia.

He is the author of three books of cartoons: The Fish John West Reject (1995), Australia Incorporated (1997) and Hinzebrand: Political Cartoons in Brine (2000). His award-winning work has also appeared in the National Museum of Australia's annual exhibitions of political humour.
