Leichhardt nameplate

A small brass nameplate, the first known artefact from explorer Ludwig Leichhardt's 1848 expedition, is linked to one of the great mysteries of Australian exploration. Evidence from the historical record and extensive scientific analysis helped to establish the plate's authenticity.
