Arrival of the First Fleet

Description
A fleet of 11 ships led by Captain Arthur Phillip on the Supply sailed into Botany Bay between 18-20 January 1788 to establish the first British settlement on the Australian continent. Deciding Botany Bay was unsuitable, Captain Arthur Phillip moved to Sydney Cove, Port Jackson, and raised the British flag on 26 January 1788. This date is now celebrated as Australia Day.
