Castle Hill revolt

Description
More than 300 Irish convicts armed with guns and pitchforks rebelled against colonial authorities at Castle Hill in 1804. Shouting 'Death or Liberty', they converged on Castle Hill Government Farm, north of Parramatta. The mob confronted a detachment of the New South Wales Corps, who were tipped off after an informer warned John Macarthur. The corps quickly suppressed the rebels, killing 24 and arresting about 300. The captured leaders of the uprising were executed.
