Female Emigrants' Home

Description
Caroline Chisholm worked tirelessly to improve conditions for emigrants in nineteenth century Australia. She established the Female Emigrants Home in Sydney to help unemployed young women in 1841. Ten years later, she founded the Family Colonization Loan Society to aid families emigrating to Port Phillip Bay. Chisholm also contributed to the life of the Catholic Church in Australia and was a tireless worker for social reform.
