Chisholm opposes transportation

Description
Philanthropist Caroline Chisholm published a pamphlet opposing transportation, Emigration and Transportation Relatively Considered, in 1847. Chisholm also campaigned for the families of emancipist convicts to be given free passage to Australia and argued for a systematic approach to colonial migration. She later established a 'Family Loans Colonisation Society' to support family emigration to the Australian colonies.
