Burke & Wills search parties

Description
Four groups set out in search of missing members of the Burke and Wills expedition in 1861. A party led by Alfred Howitt rescued John King and brought back news of the deaths of Robert O'Hara Burke and William Wills. John McKinlay left Gawler, South Australia, and found the grave of Charles Gray, another member of the expedition who had died on the return journey from the Gulf of Carpentaria. William Landsborough left Brisbane by sea for the Gulf, but was shipwrecked. Frederick Walker struck inland from Rockhampton, Queensland, finding one of Burke's camps.
