Description
Aboriginal people are traditionally hunter-gatherers, generally with men hunting large animals whilst women gathered plants and small animals. Depending on their location, marine animals such as turtles and dugongs were hunted by coastal communities, with the inland communities hunting various species of kangaroos, wombats, emus and lizards. Various methods were used to catch their prey, including the use of spears, fire, traps, ambush techniques, and more recently, firearms.
