Recording stages of oyster growth

In 1912 Thomas Dick sent five sets of oyster samples, each attached to a slate used in their propagation, to the Australian Museum, Sydney, to demonstrate the different stages of growth. He was keen to present a further 100–200 slates to show oyster growth over a three-year period, and for this collection to be exhibited. It is not known whether the curators accepted his offer.
