A controversial theory

Thomas Dick wrote to the Australian Museum in 1923 proposing an article he would like to write for the museum’s journal on his theory that marine mineral deposits were derived from the remains of sea anemones. Dick recognised that his theory was controversial but wanted the opportunity to present his findings to a wider scientific audience. The director of the Australian Museum, however, declined Dick’s offer.
