Appendix 5: Disability strategies

From 1 July 2007 the Museum has outlined, in its Annual Report, performance of its roles as purchaser and provider and has reported against its employer role through the Australian Public Service Commission's State of the Service agency survey.

The Museum as a provider

Access for people with disabilities continued to be improved.

Lifts were upgraded throughout the Museum to provide better access for disabled visitors and staff. This included the provision of braille lift buttons, audio commands and improved passenger detection systems to ensure the operation of the doors allows for people with
disabilities.
