You are in site section: About us

The National Museum of Australia supports the development of museum professionals by hosting interns from Australia and overseas. Interns are placed within the Museum to work on structured projects under the supervision of our staff.

The Museum interprets Australian social history in a unique way by revealing the stories of ordinary and extraordinary Australians, promoting the exploration of knowledge and ideas and providing a dynamic forum for discussion and reflection. We regret that we are unable to assist directly or financially with accommodation, living or travel costs or visa arrangements.

We welcome applications from tertiary students seeking to undertake an internship with us. Please provide evidence of the part of your course curriculum that requires undertaking an internship.

Please complete the docInformation for Prospective Interns (MS Word 34kb) form and return it to
