A tattered and torn Australian flag found in the ruins of the World Trade Center in New York will go on display at the National Museum of Australia on Friday, September 7.

The flag was discovered in the basement of World Trade Center Three, which was destroyed by falling debris from the collapse of the Twin Towers. The flag is believed to have been used at the 22-story Marriott Hotel which was destroyed in the attack.
